Our Pastor

 

“Pastor Steve” & Deborah, have been married for 34 years!  They have 3 daughters and eleven grandchildren. Steve is a graduate of the Berean Bible College and was ordained by  the Faith Community Church of Tucson Arizona. Steve spent nine years as a Philadelphia area Police Officer. He then  began his own bodyguard career working for such notorieties as; Dr. Tim & Beverly LaHaye, and many other notable figures. steveaiken.com In the past years, the Aikens have helped plant two other churches and ran a mission for homeless teenagers in the Philadelphia area. Steve is a Nationally published, Christian author, and still enjoys part time “Missionary-work” with the “homeless” of southern Arizona and the border with Mexico. The Southern Arizona Community Church, is a church “plant” of the Faith Community Church in Tucson.

       

 

Sherma joined SOAZCC recently after retiring from the staff of First Southern Baptist Church in Tucson as Director of Children’s Ministries.  Sherma has served in several capacities on staff in churches in Arizona and Indiana over the past 15years.  She grew up in a Christian family and gave her heart to Jesus as a young girl at Christian camp.  Sherma has also served on foreign missions teams in Mexico.  Her love of vocal music has enabled her to be a part of performances from T.V. in Hollywood to Carnegie Hall in New York City.                                                                                                                                                                                       

 

 

Nina Keck helping with all the “behind the scenes” things that go into making our church run smoothly. Sherma and her husband, Dean, have lived in Green Valley for the past four years. Both Dean & Sherma are a godsend to Pastor Steve, our church, and the Staff of SOAZCC.
